His voice came out steadier than his ribs felt. "You want my thumb on that, you're going to need a deed that actually says what it's supposed to say." Corbin crouched down to his eye level. Leather and cheap wine, that close. "You've got a mouth for a man about to lose a finger." "Everyone told Lord Lane you were slow." Corbin's mouth twisted. "Should've known the family joke would still be flapping his gums two seconds from a slit throat."
