He dropped a bundle—Vesper's scarf.

"Proof she's alive. Proof you fail."

Kael fired a shield blast. Corin vanished.

Day twenty-eight dawn. Rescue day.

They hit the caretaker house at breach pulse—wards dip twenty-eight minutes apart.

Liora sang measure twenty-eight—short, sharp, opens locks.

Dorian lightning-cut doors.

Kael found Vesper chained in a cellar—not hurt, furious.

"Took you long enough," she said.
