Thirtieth morning—or what should have been day one again.
The courtyard looked the same. The bell rang the same. But Renn looked at Kael with recognition, not stranger's eyes.
"You again," Renn said, scarred face pale. "You told me to live. I did. What the hell happened?"
Kael couldn't explain fast enough. Vesper ran past shouting about breach seals and persistent memory. Faculty panicked in clusters. The stuck eighth chime on the clock tower didn't stick—it rang through, clear and final.
Dorian found Kael at the intake hall. "Mother's weight is still here."
"Mine too."
Liora spread Miren's stolen notes on the fountain edge—now dry, no tipping. "Shared loop means shared reset risk. If one of us dies today, do all reset?"
No one knew.
Serath stood on the Founder Hall steps, dean mask cracked at the jaw, silver beneath.
"Congratulations," he called to the crowd. "You broke iteration isolation. You also removed my safety valve. The breach is sealed unstable. Day thirty must finish the work or Vaelthorne falls."
Murmurs. Fear.
Corin pushed through students, blood on his collar, eyes wild. "You cheated. I had sixty-three iterations invested."
"You worked for him," Dorian snapped.
"I worked to win.
