"That's her voice." Sienna shoved the phone at me. "Leah just sent this two minutes ago. She says she's fine."

I grabbed her wrist before she could pull back. "Play it again."

"Let go."

"Play it."

She twisted her arm but I didn't move. Her pulse hammered under my thumb. Finally she tapped the screen. Leah's voice came through, breathy and quick. "Sienna, I'm okay. Don't come. It's a setup. I'm hiding at my sister's place in Greymont. Don't trust the address Asher gave you. Don't—"

The message cut off.

"You hear that?" Sienna yanked her hand free. "She's safe. Asher was bluffing."

"Or someone's got her phone."

"That's her voice, Kael. I've known her for eight years."

"Voices can be faked." I pulled up the video Asher sent twenty minutes ago. Froze it on the girl's face. Blonde hair, blood on her mouth, duct tape around her wrists. "This girl's got a scar under her left eye. Does Leah?"

Sienna went still. She leaned in. Her shoulder brushed mine and the moonbond flared hot enough to make my ribs ache. She didn't pull away. Just stared at the screen.

"I don't know," she said finally. "I never noticed.
