Chapter 6 · Waste the Wedding
"Say it again." My fist was still full of his collar, the studs of his tux shirt biting into my knuckles. "Say it like you mean it, Callum, or don't say it at all."
He didn't get the chance.
The door came off its top hinge on the first kick. Wood splinters skated across the hardwood floor and Magnus Vane filled the gap where the door used to be, two of his security men crowding in behind him like they were bracing for a fight instead of walking into a wedding.
"Get your hands off my son-in-law." Magnus's voice hit the walls like a slammed drawer.
Callum's hand was still wrapped around my wrist. Neither of us moved fast enough to make it look like nothing.
The mark on my neck picked that exact second to flare, hot enough that I flinched, and I watched Magnus's eyes drop straight to the collar of my shirt, where the skin had gone raw-red and unmistakable. Full moon tonight. Of course it was.
