He Signs the Crime Ethan hit the clinic lobby talking about a child's name on a sign he didn't own, and Cassian's hand was already in the small of my back, steering me out the side door into the armored SUV before I threw a chart at anyone. The door sealed. Tinted glass. A moving bulletproof box on wet Chicago streets. No bed. No mercy.

"You looked at him like that again," Cassian said, yanking my coat open, "and I'll ruin you right here."

"He was smelling my mark." Cassian dragged me across the leather seat, knee between mine, and shoved my shirt to my jaw.

"Tell me who owns this body." The SUV took a corner. I grabbed the oh-shit handle. He took my mouth. Aching heat. I was soaked before the second light. His belt opened with a metal sound that made the driver partition feel too thin.
