"Get down!" Cassian's hand hit my spine and the world went sideways. The warehouse door didn't open. It came off the hinges, metal screaming, and three men in black vests walked through the hole like they owned it.

I hit the floor behind a stack of pallets, ears ringing. Cassian was already between me and the door, shoulders squared, not even reaching for a weapon. Just standing there like his body was the wall.

"Sloane Hart." The lead hunter said my name like he was reading it off a manifest. Not a question. "We're not here for the wolf."

"Then you picked the wrong warehouse," Cassian said. His voice had gone flat, that low register that meant something under his skin wanted out.

"We picked the right one." The hunter tapped a tablet against his thigh. "Contract says the medic. Delivered breathing, if it's not too much trouble."

My stomach dropped through the floor. "Contract," I said. "What contract?"

"Ask your Alpha." The hunter smiled, and it wasn't a nice smile. "He put you up as collateral three weeks ago.
