Chapter 15 · Moonclaim - Chapter 15: The Traitor's Keycard

Ivy stared at the half-burned photo on Leon's desk. The badge was small. Silver edge. Moonclaim logo stamped dead center.

Someone inside the company killed his family.

"Could be stolen," she said. Her voice came out flat. She didn't believe it.

Leon didn't answer. He was standing by the window with his back to her. His shoulders were locked tight. She could smell the wolf rising off him even from across the room.

"Leon."

"I know."

He turned. His eyes had gone amber at the edges. Not all the way. Just enough to make her pulse kick.

"I need the personnel files," he said. "Everyone who was employed ten years ago. Everyone who had clearance to the old Alpine facility."

Ivy nodded. She pulled out her phone. Then stopped.

"What?"

She looked up at him. "If someone inside did this, they've had ten years to cover it. You start pulling files now, they'll know."

Leon's jaw tightened. "So I do nothing."

"I didn't say that."

He crossed the room. Stopped close enough that she had to tilt her head back. The bond hummed between them.
