Chapter 11 · I have teeth

"I have teeth."

"Against Cole's guns?"

"Against you, if you slow me down."

Rayne caught the chain attached to my cuff. It pulled me back hard enough to spin me around.

"You are not my prisoner anymore," he said.

I looked at the silver around my wrist.

"Then take this off."

"Not yet."

"You just said—"

"You are coming into the snow with me."

The camp seemed to stop around those words.

Even the soldiers nearby looked over.

Rayne stepped close, his shoulders blocking the firelight, his voice meant for me alone.

"You lead me to the pup. I keep Cole's men off you. You don't run. You don't lie. You don't touch the bond unless I tell you to."

"You don't get to give me rules."

"I have the chain."

"I have the location."

"Then we both have something the other needs."

His face was inches from mine. Snow melted against his lashes.
