Chapter 11 · The Blood Price
"Don't you dare pass out on me now." His hand locked around my wrist and slammed me back against his chest before my knees could hit the stone.
"I'm not passing out," I spat. My voice cracked anyway. "Let go of me."
"You are shaking like a leaf." Silas didn't let go. His fingers tightened. "Look at what you did, little Luna. Look."
I didn't want to look. Klaus was on the floor three feet away, both hands clamped over his throat, blood pouring between his fingers. The dagger Silas gave me was still stuck in my grip, slick and hot.
"I did what you told me to do," I hissed. "So don't — don't act like this is my fault."
"I didn't tell you to do anything." His mouth was right against my ear, low and amused. "I suggested. You chose. There's a difference. And now you have to pay for it."
"Pay for it? He sold me!" I tried to jerk free. He held me tighter. His chest was a wall at my back. "He dragged me here like cattle, you saw —"
"I saw." His other hand came up and forced my chin around.
