Garrick's body swung in the wind. His fingers scraped at the stone where Mira had pinned his shirt with a shard of ice. One hundred feet of empty air below him. The canyon opened up black and hungry.

Mira didn't even look at him. She kept her eyes on Cade.

"You come to me," she said. "Alone. No wolves. No backup. Or I let go."

Cade took a step forward. His wolf was so close to the surface I could see gold bleeding into his eyes. "Let him down. This is between us."

"No." Mira's voice cracked like a whip. "This is between all of us. Six years ago your father butchered my pack. Sienna's pack. And you think you get to walk away clean because you didn't hold the blade?"

Garrick made a sound. Not a scream. Worse. A choked little gasp as the ice shifted and his weight pulled him closer to the edge.

I moved before I thought. Three steps and I was between Cade and Mira. My hands up. Empty.

"Mira. Stop."

She laughed. It sounded broken. "Stop? You told me to burn them, Sienna. You wanted this."

"I wanted justice."
