"Your name's on three of these."
Amy slammed the folder onto the cracked subway bench. Dust jumped. Mark flinched, then reached for it.
She snatched it away. "Don't. Not until you tell me why."
Mark's pulse kicked hard. Behind Amy, Daniel unfolded the map they'd found, but he stopped reading when he saw the page beneath her hand. Lucas stood by the tunnel entrance, phone light aimed at them, his face tight and pale.
"Why what?" Mark asked.
Amy flipped the folder open and jabbed at a line near the bottom. "M. Chen. Signatory. That's you."
The English blurred around the Chinese characters. Mark knew that page. Not the words, but the room where he'd seen them before—the white room, the metal chair, the man who wouldn't meet his eyes.
"Let me see it," Daniel said.
He moved in close. Cold coffee clung to his breath. His shoulder brushed Mark's, and his right hand flexed beside his hip, ready for a weapon he didn't have.
Amy passed him the folder. "Page four. Page seven. Check them."
Daniel scanned the pages. His eyes moved fast. "Witness signature here. Recipient on seven.
