On This Night

In the hushed majlis of a Riyadh estate, the elders offer Danah Al-Subait the three customary ways out before her lineage is struck from the family ledger: withdraw quietly, concede her position, or accept exile. When the heavy door of the private wing shuts and locks from the outside, leaving the gathering hall behind, the time for diplomatic retreat ends. Behind closed doors, with the household waiting for dawn, Danah must choose between fleeing the hall's judgment or placing her name and future irrevocably in the hands of the only man unyielding enough to hold her ground.
